Hey guys,
Im Brian. I got my first guitar when I was 15, and I have been writing music since around sometime in high school. I started in the music scene with my first band "Silverfix". which now remains my solo project. Silverfix was sort of a post-style punk alternative band and you can look it up on Spotify if you are interested. This current band is a lot heavier and I have been thrilled to be a part of it everyday!
I think Northaven gets a lot of its more progressive feel from most of my writing I feel like. I listen to a lot of ambient kinda melodic proggy bands like Periphery, Invent Animate, TesseracT, Erra, and Northlane. I guess I also inject a lot of modern metal into our flavor as well.
I also have a firm background in audio engineering, and I recorded all the demo versions of our material as well as mix and mastered final cuts. I always make sure the PA is good to go for our live mix as well. Dan brought a ton of equipment over for rehearsal so we have somewhat tag-teamed it so to speak.
But yeah, Im just in this thing because music blows my mind sometimes.
Just to think how songs can outlive their writers by hundreds even thousands of years....some even maybe live forever! One thing for sure is that music is the universal language that can share many kinds of energy or emotion. I can't wait to share Northaven's energy with you all very soon!
Massive thanks,
-Brian
